Barbara Flügge

Barbara Flügge has been working for SAP since 2002. In her function as Cross-Industry and IoT Taskforce Lead for Digital Cities and Regions she is incubating solutions for entire business networks in the field of Public Sector, Engineering and Construction, Utilities, Telecommunications, Transportation and Logistics and IoT.

Barbara also heads the global initiative Empowering Ecosystems, introducing collaborative enterprise apps for contextual ecosystems such as ports, airports, and agglomerations. Her activities cover the functional, operational and economic design of IoT and Business Services, deployable within, beyond and across organizations and industries.

Barbara formerly held management positions within SAP Consulting for Public Sector and Utilities, Ariba Inc. and Arthur Andersen Strategy Consulting. Her contributions reach out to local and international ecosystems and can be found in activities around the globe in various sectors. She is also a recognized mentor within and outside SAP. Her recent publication “Smart Mobility – Trends, Konzepte, Best Practices für die Intelligente Mobilität” (http://www.springer.com/us/book/9783658143701) introduces the Building Blocks for Intelligent Mobility and a Procedure Model for business and governmental innovation leaders and forward thinkers. The English edition will be available in the first quarter of 2017.

She graduated in Information Management and Business Administration at the Otto Friedrich University Bamberg, Germany and holds a Ph.D. in Management and Economics from Tilburg University, Netherlands.
