Roman Nekula is the Road administration director of the municipal company Brněnské komunikace a.s., which provides management and maintenance of about 1000 km of roads, including four tunnels, engineering activity in preparation and construction supervision of transportation construction and buildings, as well as management and organization of traffic in Brno, including traffic management and control centre (TMCC) and traffic of city parking system. The company is a member of Czech and Slovak Intelligent Transport Systems & Services – Association for transport telematics (SDT) and took part in several European projects focused mainly on providing traffic information.
Roman Nekula continues in his current position a wealth of experience in various previous positions such as Head of the Department of Transport Brno City Hall, technical director of the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic, but also as the designer of the road construction in major Czech design companies. He is a certified engineer for road constructions Czech Chamber certified engineers and technicians active in construction (ČKAIT), a member of the Czech Road Society (CSS) and ITS&S – Association for transport telematics (SDT), regularly lectures at conferences and seminars, especially with traffic-engineering content.
