Joachim Schneider holds a Master degree as Urban Planning Engineer and a PhD in Economics.

He worked as civil servant at local and regional level in Germany and was involved in the planning of large infrastructure projects and the preparation of directly and competitively procured rail service contracts in Brandenburg.

From 2003 to 2007 he managed TEN T funding of rail infrastructure projects in DG TREN (now MOVE) and was responsible for the development of innovative TEN T funding instruments.

Thereafter he worked for the EIB in the preparation and appraisal of rail and urban transport projects and has moved now to the EIB/JASPERS Networking and Competence Center of JASPERS in Brussels.
