A graduate of RWTH Aachen University, he later worked on research programmes at the university. He has been a Senior Consultant at Rupprecht Consult – Forschung & Beratung GmbH since 2009. In 2012 he obtained his PhD from the Faculty for Georesources and Material Technology at RWTH Aachen University.
