Trevor Garrod

Trevor graduated in Modern Languages, Oxford University in 1969 and was a schoolteacher from 1970-87. He worked as civil servant from 1987-2011 and is now retired.A seasoned commuter, Trevor has been active in organisations campaigning for better public transport since the early 1970s, including 15 years as General Secretary of Railway Development Society (now Railfuture). Has organised surveys, meetings, events and conferences, produced reports, written or edited many books.

In the late 1990s Railfuture started to work with similar organisations in Continental Europe, and this led to the formation of the European Passengers' Federation in 2002. Trevor has been its Chairman since its formation. EPF has grown to 34 member associations in 19 European countries. It provides a voice for users of international rail services, encourages multi-modal and seamless transport and seeks to spread good practice in urban and regional transport.
