Since 1999 Martin Röhrleef (51) is working for üstra, Hanover`s public transport operator. He set up several collaborations of üstra with carsharing, car-rental, taxi and other mobility providers and launched Germany´s first integrated “mobility package” HANNOVERmobil.

Today he is head of üstra`s staff department “Combined Mobility” and manager of a federal funded project to set up a new mobility platform for the metropolitan area of Hannover. Furthermore he is the managing director of TaxiBus Ltd., a joint company of üstra and the local taxi operator.

Martin Röhrleef has been an environmental activist and transit advocate for years. After his Master in Civil Engineering he started working for the Greater Hanover Association (1991 – 1998), being responsible for comprehensive transport planning.

From 2008-2012 he has been the General Manager for the VDV (German Association of Public Transport Operators) for Bremen and Lower Saxony.
