Martin Pichl is the assistant director of the intelligent transport systems, space activities, and research, development, and innovation department at the Czech Ministry of Transportation, where he has worked since 1997. He is a graduate of the former University of Transport and Connections in Žilina, Slovakia. After the division of Czechoslovakia, he completed his studies in transport and telecommunications technologies and management at the Faculty of Transport at Czech Technical University in Prague.
At present he is in charge of handling the issues surrounding the development of Intelligent Transport Systems, the Global Navigation Satellite Systems applications that are related to these, and automated mobility, for coordinating the relevant nationwide and international programs and projects related to ITS and GNSS systems and to automation in transport and for the ministry's transport research, development and innovation conception.
